Thanks to support from Interior Savings, The Bridge Youth and Family Services and Healthy Together was able to offer quality HT@Home (Healthy Together at Home) programming over the spring months. During this unprecedentedly uncertain time, families have needed new and innovative ways to connect with other families and support their children. HT@Home has offered one such place for families to gather, learn and share together. Funding from Interior Savings supported Healthy Together to move to an online platform, and offer programming across British Columbia in communities where families may not have had access to other learning options. Through Zoom technology, parents were able to meet with other parents, connect with trained Healthy Together facilitators and participate in learning, physical and cooking activities as a group.
“Having Healthy Together available during these lonely months has given me something to look forward to. My kids and I can show up, play together and know we are going to be met with kindness and respect. I’ve learned a few things and we have all had fun. I love Healthy Together!”
HT@Home participant
In addition to the usual HT@Home program, Interior Savings generously offered 4 additional financial training sessions to program participants. Interior Savings staff offered financial literacy tips in fun, informative ways that captivated the group and will stimulate future interest and learning. One of the Healthy Together team members shared the impact that she feels this has had on the Healthy Together program; “offering financial literacy through Healthy Together has been a perfect fit for our clients. Interior Savings has done a great job of keeping the information fun and informative, and linking it with program material – for example talking about how to save money while making great nutrition choices when planning meals. The partnership between Interior Savings and Healthy Together has made the HT@Home program even stronger, and has offered more to our parents!”
“The opportunity to augment our services during the pandemic through continuing virtual Healthy Together program sessions has enhanced the Bridge services and the Healthy Together program. As a result of Interior Savings funding we learned how great virtual HT is for our own ‘in house’ Tiny to Tot program. We will continue to offer this program to families over the summer as a result. We also learned how to best support trained HT facilitators to deliver the program virtually to organizations across the province.”

The Bridge Youth & Family Services
The support provided by Interior Savings over this pivotal time allowed HT@Home to continue offering quality Healthy Together programming to organizations and families. By supporting our team of facilitators to offer HT@home we were able to better understand how Healthy Together program works over remote delivery and we were able to refine our understanding of the program and its unique strengths. Because of this, we are better situated to continue offering Healthy Together across British Columbia over the long-term.
