Facilitator training
and certification can be done in as little FOUR hours! We're confident you'll
successfully move through the learning modules that we've so carefully and
thoughtfully curated over more than ten years. Constantly improving and
aligning our toolkits with the Canada Food Guide and 24-Hr Movement Guidelines.
We continue to receive support from the Public Health Agency of Canada and other
community partners across the country including receiving and responding to
evaluations by the University of British Columbia (UBC). You can learn more
about the program's success in this peer-reviewed article by UBC's Institute
for Healthy Living and Chronic Disease Prevention, Scaling
up a community-led health promotion initiative: Lessons learned and promising
practices from the Healthy Weights for Children Project.
What's involved in
training to become a facilitator?
Upon your enrollment
to a self-paced learning experience, you will be met with a variety of tools to
help you through to certification. Included are Master Trainer example videos,
six months of access to all tools and resources, ready to use lesson plans, and
more! Creating valuable and impactful activities and learning opportunities can
often be time consuming and may not be received by your participants or
students as you would've hoped. We get that. Which is why we've done it for
you! We use our evidence-based program to provide you with easy to download
resources and materials that you can plug directly into your daily operations
without skipping a beat. Training is all online, accessed through the Healthy
Together portal. It is available to you whenever you want to work through it as
long as you're enrolled. Don't hesitate to reach out to support if you have any
questions along your certification journey!
